#1) Low hassle bathing!
If your mastiff is like ours (massive), there is almost no hope of getting it into the tub inside your house for a proper bath! It works fine when they’re puppies, but as they gain in size, it becomes more difficult! We recommend a hose attachment like the Pfister Pet Shower (Made by Black & Decker). We love this one because it easily adapts to an outdoor hose and indoor shower (if you dare!)
#2) A legit hair brush!
Not only does this benefit your mastiff, but hey, a great brush helps keep your dogs shedding under control, which means less house/clothing clean up hassle for you! Check out the cleverly named grooming tool that we use (and have been very pleased with)

PS: We haven’t had much luck with the grooming “rakes”, which are priced much lower than the FURminator tool below. You get what you pay for on this item, and in our tool box of mastiff stuff, this is certainly a must have! We give it 5 stars and so have many others!

#3) Natural and gentle dog shampoo!
Burt’s Bees Oatmeal dog shampoo is our favorite! It is made of nature’s finest ingredients, and is powerful yet gentle on your dogs coat/skin. If you’re bathing your mastiff at home instead of using a groomer, we found an awesome Burt’s Bees Bundle (shampoo and deodorizing spray!)
#4) An elevated food/water bowl!
This one comes in 3 or 5 quarts with adjustable wrought iron and stainless steel dishes! (Chew proof!)

#6.) Reliable flea, tick, and lice treatment!

#7) A comfy place to chill/sleep!
We got tired of trying to keep our mastiff off of our bed/couches and thought about giving up the fight! UNTIL we ordered one of these! We had to spend a few weeks training, but our mastiff is making improvements and is loving this canine couch! The best part about this mastiff sofa = it’s easy to clean! #8) Dental Hygiene Routine! Our dogs cannot do this on their own! Caring for your mastiffs mouth is important and unfortunately often overlooked. A clean mastiff mouth can prevent several diseases. We use a dental foam with peppermint scent –> { “Fetch” by Burt’s Bee’s!} We’ve also tried dental brush chews like this one.
#9) A clean outdoor water source! This has been a life saver! We like to keep water outside for our mastiff, but during hot months the dish would draw in mosquitos, frogs, and more! This outdoor water fountain keeps the water clean and low maintenance for us!
